Palm Sunday

Today the grace of the Holy Spirit has gathered us together. Let us all take up Thy cross and say: Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord. Hosanna in the highest! (First Verse of Vespers).

Who Knew?

Who knew there were furry creatures who would throw a party while we were away? Who knew mice like to romp in towel drawers looking for silicone hot pads to nibble on or stroll through kitchen drawers chewing on anything with a rubber handle...can opener...veggie peeler...spatula...wire whisk...etc...

Who knew that they wouldn't stop there?! That they needed a more substantial feast? Who knew they love rubber pot handles too? That we would need to sanitize and wash all of our pots and pans and that we will be reminded of our furry little house guests every time we grab the handle of our favorite pan?

Well, now we know...and though I am sure he feasted well, there is now one less furry creature roaming this world...and in case any others have the same idea: there are traps in every corner...

November in the review mirror

The seminary community held their annual talent show and some children dressed up in costumes just for fun and others (children and adults) shared there talents. It was a fun and entertaining evening. H had fun dressing up as a panda bear (found at a local consignment shop - yippee!) and wanted to know when the next talent show was.

K's friend flew in for her birthday, which was a fantastic present. It was so nice to have someone here from home and have good, relaxed fellowship. We went to church together and she saw the seminary and monastery. We had a wonderful time together and were sad to see her go...

Metropolitan Jonah also visited the seminarians. There was an informal pizza get together where seminarians and there families could meet/talk to him. It was a nice opportunity and very thoughtful of him, given his intensely busy schedule.https://picasaweb.google.com/104287731630457993451/111011MetJonahMeetsWithStudents#slideshow/5673781194188547762

And finally, we were welcomed into another seminarians home for Thanksgiving and enjoyed spending the day with them even though we missed being home...
